The Shoestring Acacia (Acacia stenophylla) is a striking evergreen tree known for its unique weeping form and graceful, pendulous foliage. Its long, narrow "leaves" are actually phyllodes—flattened leaf stems—that give the tree its common name. This Australian native is exceptionally tough, thriving in dry, hot climates where many other trees struggle. It's an excellent choice for xeriscaping, providing a lovely, airy look and light shade without requiring much water. The tree produces creamy yellow, puff-ball flowers in spring, adding a splash of color to its otherwise understated elegance.
