Bring good fortune and a touch of the tropics into your home with the elegant Pachira aquatica, commonly known as the Money Tree. This beautiful indoor plant is characterized by its unique, braided trunk and lush, glossy green leaves that fan out from a central point. The braiding of the trunk is a symbol of good luck and prosperity in Feng Shui, making it a popular gift for housewarmings, business openings, and special occasions. The Money Tree is not only a symbol of wealth but also an easy-to-care-for plant that thrives in a variety of indoor environments. It purifies the air and adds a vibrant, natural element to any space. Its resilience and striking appearance make it a perfect addition to both seasoned plant lovers' collections and those new to gardening.

Arabic Common Name:

  • شجرة المال (Shajarat al-Mal)

Light: ☀️ The Pachira aquatica thrives in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves. A spot near a window with a sheer curtain is ideal.

Watering: 💧 Water thoroughly when the top 2-3 inches of soil feel dry. Allow the soil to dry out between waterings to prevent root rot. Be careful not to overwater.

Humidity: 🌫️ The Money Tree prefers high humidity. You can increase humidity by misting the leaves regularly, placing the pot on a pebble tray with water, or using a humidifier.

Temperature: 🌡️ Keep the plant in a warm environment, ideally between 65°F and 75°F (18°C - 24°C). Protect it from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.

Soil: 🌱 Use a well-draining potting mix. A standard potting soil mixed with perlite or sand works well to ensure proper drainage.

Fertilizer: 💉 Feed the plant with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 2-4 weeks during the spring and summer growing season. Reduce or stop fertilizing in the fall and winter.
