Arabic Common Name: نخيل الأريكا (Nakhil al-Arika), نخيل الفراشة (Nakhil al-Farasha)

Product Description
The Areca Palm, or Dypsis lutescens, is a stunning and popular indoor plant known for its feathery, arching fronds that bring a touch of the tropics to any space. Its vibrant, yellow-green leaves and graceful form make it a perfect statement piece for living rooms, offices, and lobbies. The Areca Palm is not only beautiful but also an excellent air purifier, helping to remove common indoor toxins. Its dense foliage creates a lush, natural screen, providing both privacy and a serene atmosphere. This plant thrives with a little care, growing into a magnificent, multi-stemmed specimen that evokes the feel of a peaceful, sun-drenched oasis.

☀️LightPlace in a spot with bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can scorch the leaves. A few hours of morning sun is fine, but avoid harsh afternoon rays.

💧WateringKeep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged during the growing season (spring and summer). Allow the top inch of soil to dry out before watering again. Reduce watering in the fall and winter. Use filtered or distilled water if possible, as it is sensitive to fluoride and other chemicals in tap water.

🌡️TemperaturePrefers temperatures between 18°C and 24°C (65°F-75°F). Avoid cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.

☁️HumidityThis palm loves high humidity. Mist the leaves regularly, use a pebble tray with water, or place a humidifier nearby to keep the air moist, especially in dry indoor environments.

FertilizingFeed with a balanced, liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength once a month during the spring and summer. Do not fertilize during the dormant period in fall and winter.

🪴PottingUse a well-draining potting mix. Repot every 2-3 years or when the plant becomes root-bound. Choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the previous one.

✂️PruningPrune off old, brown, or yellowing fronds at the base to keep the plant looking tidy and to encourage new growth. Use clean, sharp scissors or shears.
